Kitetour Europe Podersdorf

Congrats to the Kitetour Europe. The first event in Austria was perfect and it was massive, cause the windsurfingworldcup stayed here before us and 44 kiters from 14 different nations turned up. It was an amazing show in front of 40.000 spectators
I was a bit unlucky in the courserace and continued once again the battle with Nuria Goma. In the end I was unlucky and couldnt join because the wind was too light and I didnt bring a bigger kite. So I ended up in courserace 4th and freestyle 5th, cause I met Celine Coulon in my second heat, who won the event.
Nice people, a good location and great parties- a perfect weekend.
I am very happy to have F One and Anton Boards as sponsors now and thanks for their support. And I ll join next tourstop in 2 weeks in Holland as well. Until then I ll stay at the Baltic Sea and lets see if it finally gets summer.

Kite Community in and around Manila

Unbelievable but yes it's true, there is a kitecommunity in Manila. Buko, Ozone distributor for the Philippines, invited me to the Flyzone Event in Nuvali,St. Rosa Laguna, half an hour outside of Manila. The project and idea is great. They want to combine all skysports and built a powerkite and paragliding parc. Nearby is the beautiful Volcano and Lake Taal. The Flyzone Event was very well organized and the Powerkiters did free introductory lessons for all interested people. Buko did a paragliding show, but strong wind made it difficult for him. I tried the powerkiting and definitely want to do more of it- good fun. Thanks for the patience of the powerkiters, which are invited to try on water. There was a lot of media and the event should definitely be repeated.

Next day Manny Cabili, distributor of Gaastra from the Philippines, took me to Lake Caliraya- 2 hours from Manila and its an awesome spot for kiting. All the windsurfers from the Funboardcup are kiting now and we had a perfect kitesession. The spot is perfect with shallow water and constant wind. If you want to stay overnight, just camp there and jump from your bed on the board. The Wind picked up and congrats to Manny to manage the backroll and the tailgrab. We did a long downwinder and discovered the lake.
Thanks to Manny and Buko to organize perfect days for me in Manila and showing me around!
I' m in Manila now, hoping that the volcano lets me fly to Europe on Thursday!

KTA Final in Thailand

Pranburi south of Hua Hin is a beautiful place and the wind was better then expected. The Evason 5 Star hotel was a perfect spot for the final of the KTA. The wind blew better then expected and on the first day we finished 2 courseraces. I love my new Anton Raceboard and finished the day with being first in the courserace. The second day brought us crazy conditions with a monsoon with rain, as i ve never seen it before and almost all tents from the setup were flying away. After some freestyle heats the kiters ended the second day with a monsoonpoolparty. Day 3 gave us rideable conditions, which were difficult with quite light wind and big waves coming in still from the monsoon from the day before. No beach was left, which made the launching quite difficult. Super nervous I won against my heats against Alison from Australia, Aya from Japan and Carla from Spain who I trained with on Boracay. Super happy I won the freestyle single elimination, in the afternoon we still did a couple of courseraces and with the Anton Board I am way ahead of the twintips. We couldnt believe when we woke up on the last day, no breeze at all. And so I was superhappy about the two first places (first time in the tour)- freestyle and courserace. A nice event and nice nd of the season, as almost everybody from the Boracayteam went into different directions for the summer.

KTA Boracay in February

The tourstop of the KTA in Boracay was very successful. People loved the spot, even though the wind was on and off. Mallory Della Villamarque, Florian Daubos, Robin Snuggs, Susi Mai- the first stop of the whole tour in which many Proriders joined.
And the local organizer gave the best to organise a week full of parties with the fashionshow, Boracay Bar Hopping and Strippers Party.
I was happy to win the freestyle and the fight against Nuria Goma, which started in Vietnam, continued here. After 2 races each of us had won one and the third one, was on her side. She finished 10 cm in front of me. Thanks to Anton Boards- I m getting finally along with the new raceboard. Anyway a good competition and soon more about Thailand. Leaving to Pranburi tomorrow- final tourstop of the KTA.

Boracay in the middle of the season, just before Chinese New Year and KTA

No crisis to feel on Boracay. We are in the middle of the season. All the Christmas and New Year Parties are almost over- we did our Christmas and New Year, the Russian ones and now the Chinese one. The wind was a bit strange, on and off- either very strong or none.
Many guests from the last years came back and many many new ones arrived. Every year is the same, but different, but the islandlife is still very enjoyable. Kite, eat, sleep and party. And if you come to Boracay- definitely don't miss the kitesafaris. Seco is everybodys favourite- don't leave the country without having been kiting on Seco! French guests are discovering the island more and more and this year there is a really nice international mix of kiters. The KTA- the first Asian kiteboarding Tour- helped us avoiding to get islandsick and to each event we traveled as a big group making advertisement for Boracay all over Asia and discovering the neighbouring countries or at least the beaches of those. China, Hongkong and Vietnam were amazing and good fun and we can't wait for the one on the homespot on Boracay end of February- it will be a massive event and packed with riders from all over the world. I'll keep you updated on that one.
